Intrastat is a system for collecting data on trade in Community goods which are not the subject of the Single Administrative Document between the Member States of the European Union. If your company is based in a Member State of the European Union (EU) and conducts business related to trade in goods (tangible, manufactured goods such as fabrics and tools) within the EU, you must provide monthly intra-European trade statistics (Intrastat ) declarations to the Office for National Statistics. An Intrastat declaration is not used to collect data on services, except when the service is an integral part of the contract for the supply of such goods, such as freight and insurance fees, which are included in the price of the goods.
